About Us

Roger Aguinaga started nurturing mother-nature with fertilizers and soil amendments in and around Orange County back in 1947, and has continued to grow with the area to meet changing challenges, to date.

The demands of early farms took little from the soil and were rather simple by comparison to the pressures and complexities that increased competition, increased production, and an increase in population has had on farming over the years. Aguinaga was there in the beginning and is still in the game!

And the challenges of today’s farming practices continue to be met with technical advances as Aguinaga also continues to match the stride and remain centered on the cutting edge, supporting new but time tested materials.

When farms were pushed out of the area, Aguinaga added support for both removal of landscape cuttings and keeping “clean green” out of the landfills by composting, to the list of skills and duties.

Partnering with the best of local agronomists to analyze plant and soil conditions and soil-related problems through testing and trials, Aguinaga has forever, participated in uncovering supportive solutions that result in healthier crops, stronger plants, tougher grass for playing fields, increased output per acre, fruits and vegetables containing more nutrients; at the same time never forgetting to respect and to protect the environment.

Aguinaga supports Southern California as one of the largest “clean green” STA approved composters, supplying ground cover and soil amendments, and a part of every day is committed to solving problems for cities, theme parks, landscape architects, growers and gardeners alike, that call or visit our retail sites.

The latest Aguinaga Group endeavor is the exposure in Southern California of SOBEC – an acronym for “Soluble Organic Biological Extract Colloid”. Testing and introduction of this nutrient cycling complex has shown that beneficial microbes target the root zone where they colonize the rhizosphere, promoting early and vigorous growth of plants with increases in water uptake, resistance to adverse growing conditions, enhanced foliar development, and improved harvest.

Aguinaga continues to plan for growth internally as well as by acquisition.
